FOUNDER

Sanaa Kouffass, president of the Soufouss cooperative, holder of a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Saint Etienne in France. Moroccan and of Amazigh origins precisely from the regions of Essaouira. The Soufouss cooperative is located in Douar Tidourine in the commune of Smimou. My mother’s origins are where I got the idea to set up the cooperative. The fundamental relationship that I have developed with the women in our cooperative since childhood has made it easier for us to better meet their needs. In 2016 we began to analyze the idea of creating the cooperative and in 2017 we made the idea a reality by building the premises according to the conditions of the national food safety office. My good initiative and the know-how as well as the good initiatives of the women of the Douar encouraged us to start the project with a good start which highlighted our precious oil which is present today at the level of several departments and everywhere in the world. The spirit of leadership has always inspired me and my training has helped me a lot to create the Soufouss Premium brand which represents an argan oil of certified organic quality EOS and USDA with the ECOCERT establishment and also approved by the EACCE , the independent export compliance control establishment

Soufouss: leader in Morocco

In Morocco, there is a forest of trees that only grow in Berber land, the Haha country, between Essaouira and Agadir; Argan trees. During this forest comes Berber women who hold the power to extract a precious oil from the trees: argan oil. Soufouss, one of the three best cooperatives on the Moroccan market in 2018, masters the delicate art of combining age-old know-how with modern and innovative values.

In addition to its subtle taste, extra virgin argan oil helps, like olive oil, to fight against bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase the good (HDL). This oil with a particularly balanced composition contains active ingredients.
